A reminder that our school disco is coming up on Friday 28th June. The Preschool and Reception children will have their disco during the day (they can wear their disco clothes all day!). No ticket is needed for the Preschool or Reception disco.
The Year 1-6 discos will be held in the Parish Hall.

We are looking forward to a fun afternoon and night dancing with our friends!
Some important reminders:
- Tickets must be pre-purchased by THURSDAY 27th June. They will not be available to buy at the door. Purchase via Qkr! App. Preschool and Reception children do not need to purchase a ticket.
- Current SMMS students only to attend.
- NO parents/carers are allowed in the Hall. Only volunteers that are registered for this event will be permitted in the Hall. No volunteers are required for the Preschool/Reception disco as it occurs during school time.
- All Year 1-6 children must be signed in and out by a parent/caregiver.
We are looking for donations for prizes. We are also looking for donations of suitable items for our party bags. Please drop off any donations to the school office.
Safety
We continue to deal with unsafe driving from parents/carers around the school. We have asked the council to patrol our area and they will issue fines to drivers who are not adhering to parking restrictions. Drivers who are not following the road rules can also be reported to SAPOL. These rules and regulations are there to assist traffic flow and for the safety of everyone, including your child!
- Do not do U-Turns in front of the school, near the crossing.
It is an unbroken white line and therefore it is illegal (and very unsafe) to do a U-Turn there.
- It is strictly 25km/h in a school zone.
I thank the parents/carers who continue to follow the rules and regulations. Your patience and consideration are appreciated.
Thank you for your continued support,
Kelly Campbell
Dear Families
I hope the long weekend brought you the opportunity to rest and enjoy some family time.
Swimming & Water Safety
It was a big week last week for Our Reception to Year 5 students with our daily swimming and water safety lessons. On all accounts the program was enjoyed by students, and they all learnt a lot about safety in and around water as well as swimming skills and techniques.
It was great to see students developing their confidence in the water, all while having fun with their classmates. Your child should have received a certificate as a record of the skills that were covered during their lessons. Thank you to the parents and carers who were able to volunteer and support our staff and students at the pool.
If you child is missing any items, we have a number of pairs of socks, goggles and some towels in our Lost Property. Please see Ange or Pennie in the Front Office.
Volunteers
We always need volunteers for special events such as excursions, water safety lessons and sporting carnivals. If you would like to become a registered volunteer to help teachers and students at events such as these, please see Angela in the front office and she will be able to help you complete the paperwork. Thank you to those parents who already volunteer and support our staff and students.
Year 6 Camp
We wish our Year 6 students and the staff supporting them all the best for camp next week. The Year 6s will be travelling to Aldinga from Monday to Wednesday for a 2-night camp where they will be enjoying camp activities centred around teamwork and the coastal ecology of the beachside location. Have fun!
Wishing you all the best for the week ahead.
Belinda
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I hope you and your family had an enjoyable long weekend. Last week, we began our Swimming Week with a Year 1 and 2 Liturgy of the Word. In our liturgy our classes celebrated the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On Sunday, the parish also held a Family Mass for the month of June. It was great to see some of our families at this celebration of the Eucharist. Family Masses are offered every month, on the second Sunday of the month in St Margaret Mary’s Church at 10:30am. All are welcome.
2024 Moore Street Soup Run
From June to September, our Student Leadership Team representatives will participate in making a range of delicious soups for the 39th Annual Moore Street Soup Run. The Moore Street Soup Run offers soups each night at Hurtle Square and Whitmore Square throughout the Winter months. The soups are served to all who come along in need a warm meal. If you grow your own vegetables or herbs, or, you would like to contribute ingredients these can be donated via the front office. We look forward to serving the needs of our community over the coming months.
First Holy Communion
The next Sacramental Program Information Meeting regarding First Holy Communion is coming up on Wednesday 3 July (Week 10) at 7.00pm at Whitefriars School (45 Beaufort Street, Woodville Park) in the Mary MacKillop Hall.
We ask that all students attend the Information Meeting with at least one or both parents. Students will receive a First Holy Communion pack, containing information and a third book with activities to help families prepare for the sacrament. Please be advised that there will be a sign in sheet to register your attendance. If you have any questions regarding the Sacramental Program, please contact the parish office on 83460944 or email Kirsty Power our Parish Sacramental Coordinator sacramental.coordinator@croydonparkparish.com.au
Change of Date: Year 4/5 Mass
Please note that due to other events we have had to change the date of our Year 4/5 parish Mass from Thursday 20 June (Week 8) to Thursday 27 June (Week 9). The Mass will be celebrated in St Margaret Mary’s Church at 9:15am. If able, we warmly extend an invitation for families to join us via the main doors on Torrens Road or the front office.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Senior students are exploring fashion and garments worn in ancient Roman times. Did you know that both males and females wore wigs!? Slaves were not permitted to wear togas! Donkey milk was used as face cream! Times have certainly changed!

Italian Teacher
Congratulations to the Year 6 students who represented our school at the SACPSSA Basketball Carnival today!
Please call or come into the office if you recognise any of these items...
Just a reminder that it is against the law to U-Turn over the solid lines around the school.
We see many dangerous manoeuvres through the office windows at the front of school.
